Import of pedigrees
For every cat you want to breed and / or go to show, and which doesn't have a Felis Belgica pedigree, you should have it imported in the FBE-pedigree book. Without that import, we can not register titles of the cats in question and we can not deliver pedigrees when offspring is born.
The procedure for that is very simple: take a copy of the original pedigree or scan it and send it to the pedigree secretary.
Declaration of pregnancy, birth and demand of pedigrees
To receive pedigrees of a litter, you must be a full member and have a registered cattery. Without those conditions, Felis Belgica can not provide pedigrees.
The demand of pedigrees goes in 3 stages:
1) Declaration of pregnancy
The declaration of pregnancy is the first part of the document. This part includes the correct data of male and female and gives an overview of the tests.
| Obligated tests |
|---|
| NFO | Glycogen Storage Disease Type IV ( GSD IV ) |
|---|
| KOR | Gangliosidosis ( GM1/GALB and GM2/HEXB ) |
|---|---|
| All Breeds | FeLV & FIV |
| All Breeds | Males proove of 2 testicles |
| Recommended Tests |
|---|
| PER, EXO, BRI | Feline Polycystic Disease ( PKD1/AD-PKD ) |
|---|
| MCO | Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ( HCM1/MyBPC3 ) |
|---|---|
| MCO | Spinal Muscular Athrophy ( SMA ) |
| RAG | Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ( MyBPC3 ) |
| ABY, SOM | Pyruvate kinase Deficiency ( PK ) |
| ABY, SOM, OCI | Progressive Retinal Athrophy ( rdAc-PRA ) |
| BUR | Gangliosidosis ( GM2/HEXB ) |
| BAL, OLH, OSH, SIA, SYL, SYS | Gangliosidosis ( GM1/GLB1 ) |
| All Breeds | Blood Group testing |
Do not forget to have the document signed by both owner of the male and the female. A document that is not signed, is not valid.
The declaration of pregnancy has to be send in, together with the certificates of the tests within 40 days after impregnation!
2) Declaration of birth
Part 2 of the form contains only an overview of the males and females born and the exact date of birth.
The declaration of birth should be send within 8 days after birth!
3) Demand of pedigrees
Part 3 of the document has a detailled overview of all kittens. At this point you have to fill out a name for each kitten. This name should contain maximum 30 characters (included the cattery name, spaces and punctuations)
The demand should be send within 60 days after birth. Chipnumbers or still missing data can be send on a later date.
If you have doubts about the correct colour of your kitten, you can always ask the advice of the president of the commission.
To help you determine the correct EMS-code, you can find an overview on this link: The FIFe Easy Mind System
You can use 1 and the same document for all 3 steps in the procedure: 3-in-1-document
Every deviation of the foreseen time periods, must be requested from the commission. Not following the procedure, can lead to refusal of pedigree delivery.
